That's been a long time ago I saw something from you here on DLT. But I agree that I did not send more pics since september this year....! But I'm real glad seeing new pics from you and your dreads here on the site. I see that you have stretched your ears more as well. How many mm do you have now? I stopped at 16 mm and I don't intend to proceed. I put in my tunnel (I stretched only 1 ear) every day and it does belong to my normal things to do like taking a shower or brushing my teeth...LOL.. But your dreads look beautiful Sarah!
My ears are at 6mm again. I took them out and let them close up to a normal piercing size for roughly a year, then decided a few weeks ago I wanted them back in. They've returned far faster than I expected to, with minimum fuss. I don't think I'm taking them any bigger than this though.
I've not brushed the loose hair for over a month now. Some days it looks ok, other days it looks a mess. It's actually been a test of will not to just take a brush to it, but it's already falling into sections and trying to loop a bit.
I still haven't decided if I'm going to continue locking the top bit back up yet, but I'm quite enjoying the nostalgia of a messy head again.
Cheers! There are still occasions where I half kick myself for taking the top ones out, but if I hadn't I wouldn't be able to contemplate redoing the loose hair from scratch. I certainly don't have any intention of removing the others at any point in the near future so it's a good halfway house.
Oooohhhh WOW Sarah, they look GREAT. And they are pretty long too! It looks like you have the same problem as I have. Some of my and your dreads are getting real thin........ I hope they won't break and fall off........... What is your opinion about this?
Hej San! I've started letting some of the much thinner ones combine with neighbours, so strengthening the root. It's all I can do really unless there's a miracle hair thickener/regrowth potion out there that actually works and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

anna: We need help! My daughter has dreadlock or mostly matted hair type dreadlocks from not brushing her brush. Can anyone help us figure out how to take them out? We have been using baby powder to rub the hair around to loosen it up.

SketchyMagpie: Hey Danny. Depending on your hair type, you might need a few more inches. I started from short hair with 2 sets of dreads and they didn't stay in until my hair was 5 inches long

chesh: Hey rye, under the "Dreadlock FAQ" >>> "The Basics" there is information on washing on the bottom. In my experience so far it has been best to wash my dreads when they get itchy and use a dry shampoo to help with the oils that are produced naturally.
