Hello all! If you haven't guessed from the subject line, I'm new to the site. I found it a few months back and loved how everyone was so informative, kind and inspiring. My journey began almost 6 1/2 months ago with the backcomb method. I originally have pretty thick, curly hair, but I relaxed it a few years back which helped tame it down a bit. So far it has been what seems to be the "typical" journey of ups and downs. As you will see in the pictures, my hair experienced MAJOR shrinkage. It's been quite an adjustment from transitioning from long hair to shorter hair but overall, I love my dread babies and cannot wait to see what they look like at one year
Month 3 - cue the shrinkage
When I could still fit them in a ponytail!
Month 7 Not too much has changed since month six. There's a ton of loose hair and a lot of the ends are starting to blunt on their own .
Month 8 All the crazy loops are starting to get engulfed in the dread.
I call this guy "Captain Hook"
I can't believe it's already been 10 months! Time certainly flies by when you stop fussing about them and start enjoying them. All of the timelines on here have been super inspiring. I can't wait to see what this next month brings ☺️ peace and love.
I missed my 11 month but I wouldn't say too much has changed. I am happy to say that I have officially made it to the one year mark! Time flew by and I couldn't be happier with where they are at.
