Hi everyone. I've started to growing dreads with neglect method about 1 years ago and i just have 15 dreads and some of them are really thin. So my questions are ,
1- Are my dreads gonna be thicker and longer than now? IME, dreads thicken and gain length with time. I'm consider myself lucky because my hair grows fast.
2- Is it normal to have 15 dreads? Or should it be more? I've seen a set with one large dread down the back. This is all personal prefernce, if you don't like the number you have, ya need to separate or encourage a few dreads to conjoin.
3- How many dreads should be grow usually? Again, this depends on you.
4- Should i mix them together? I mean should i bring 2 thin dreads together and have thicker? If you want to go thicker, sure!
5- Actually i dont feel like i have dreads what should i do to have real dreads like yours? You don't want "my" dreads...you want "your" dreads!!!
This a "compare and despair" moment. If you compare to others', it may cause moments of despair. It's best to take your dreads and own 'em, enjoy them, be them, and realize that yours have a look unique to you.

chesh: Hey rye, under the "Dreadlock FAQ" >>> "The Basics" there is information on washing on the bottom. In my experience so far it has been best to wash my dreads when they get itchy and use a dry shampoo to help with the oils that are produced naturally.

SketchyMagpie: Hey. It differs on hair type but generally speaking, you can lose up to between 25-50% of the length. Most people will be around the 25%-35% mark, ish.

FriendlyGoblin: Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting dreadlocks and I was wondering how much they'd shrink. I have medium-thick hair that is decently damaged and is 20" thick from scalp to tip. I'm also white. I'm thinking of getting them so they're life sized ruler
