I'm reading a book on Genghis Khan and the Mongolian empire, which is my current obsession. I honestly don't know why they didn't teach us more about him at school because it's just about the most amazing historical account of anything I've ever heard.
Here's a paragraph from the book that gives a good summary:
""In American terms, the accomplishment of Genghis Khan might be understood if the United States, instead of being created by a group of educated merchants or wealthy planters, had been founded by one of its illiterate slaves, who, by the sheer force of personality, charisma, and determination, liberated America from foreign rule, united the people, created an alphabet, wrote the constitution, established universal religious freedom, invented a new system of warfare, marched an army from Canada to Brazil, and opened roads of commerce in a free-trade zone that stretched across the continents. ""
Im reading The Sasquatch People and their interdimensional connection by Kewaunee Lapseritis. Veerrry interesting, wanted to read it for ages. Finally had a bit of spare cash and got it, I cant put this one down.
Just finished the Genghis Khan book. Amazing how much of an impact that one person's life had on the way the world looks today (and also a shame that he's often portrayed as a barbarian, in modern culture).
Now reading "A New Earth" by Ekhart Tolle, who I'd also recommend to fans of Alan Watts. Very quotable so far.

Yelp.. I also finished the fiction I was reading and ordered 'The Passage', a book I've heard great things about, but it just arrived and I had no idea it was so huge.... 980 pages. That's going to take a while (probably about 100 days by the rate I read).

Thich Nhat Hanh has been coming up a lot in podcasts I've been listening to of late, alongside Alan Watts and Ekhart Tolle and other philosopher types who's work appeals to me.... let us know how you get on with it.
Also, I had no idea how to spell it so thank you ha. XD
